North Myrtle Beach is located on the northeastern coast of South Carolina, just north of the more famous Myrtle Beach.

It’s part of the Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of beautiful Atlantic coastline, and is known for its quieter, more family-friendly vibe.

 

While both are part of the Grand Strand, North Myrtle Beach is generally quieter and more residential than central Myrtle Beach.

It’s ideal for families or couples who want access to great beaches, golf, shopping, and dining — without the crowds.

 

Yes! North Myrtle Beach is one of the most family-friendly beach destinations on the East Coast.

You’ll find calm, swimmable beaches, kid-friendly attractions, mini golf, ice cream shops, and wide sandy stretches perfect for beach games.

The most popular months are May through August, when temperatures are warm and the beach is bustling.

For fewer crowds and lower prices, consider spring (March–April) or fall (September–October), when the weather is still pleasant.

Some popular activities include relaxing on the beach, exploring Barefoot Landing, visiting Alligator Adventure, taking a dolphin cruise, enjoying live music at House of Blues, or teeing off at a nearby golf course.

Yes — North Myrtle Beach has gentle waves, clean sand, and lifeguards during peak season. It’s great for families with kids.

During peak season (May 15–September 15), tents and canopies are prohibited from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beach umbrellas are allowed within size limits. Baby tents (under 36 inches in height) are permitted. See city regulations here.

Paid parking is enforced from March 1 through October 31, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most lots are $4/hour. Handicap placards park free in city-owned lots. Parking info

Yes, golf carts are allowed with some restrictions. You must be 16+ with a valid driver’s license and may only drive during daylight hours. Golf cart laws

Surfing is allowed in designated areas between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. from May 15 to September 15. Surfers must wear a leash and stay at least 300 feet from piers.

This section covers common questions for Shutters By The Beach

You can be on the sand in minutes, making it easy to come and go throughout the day.

Shutters By The Beach is what’s called “Second Row” in the Myrtle Beach area, meaning that there’s only one row of houses separating the property from the ocean.

Beach access is directly across the street from Shutters By The Beach, so you won’t have far to walk at all. 

Absolutely! You’ll find plenty of casual dining spots, grocery stores, coffee shops, and family-friendly attractions within a short drive… many within just one mile!

Check-in is typically after 4:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM. 

We’ll try our best to accommodate an early check in for you before 4pm, however that will depend on a number of factors, including the schedule of the cleaning crew and linen service.

Just know that we’re doing all that we can to have the house available for you. We’ll email you the door entry code just as soon as the house is ready for you to occupy.

Generally that will depend on whether there are guests checking in that same day, or if there is scheduled maintenance that needs to be performed.

All approvals for late check-out need to be in writing from management. Otherwise guests should plan to vacate by 10am.

Yes, there are no keys to pick up. 

You’ll be sent a unique  entry code via the email address that you provide us when the house is ready for occupancy on the day of your arrival.

The pool is not heated. It is open from April – October.

There MAY be a few beach chairs or beach toys there at the house left by previous guests, however it’s not something that we keep inventory of.

Beach umbrellas and chairs are often available for rental from North Myrtle Beach City beach services located conveniently near the life-guard stations.

There’s room for 5 – 6 vehicles in the front of the property.
